Is this Good or Not so Good News for the Nundah Village Community

Always Two Sides of the Coin

This week James Clark from the Ray White Nundah office attended a breakfast organized by the Nundah District Development Association where the hot topic was the commercial premises (4 doors down from Ray White Nundah) to be occupied by Energex.

The breakfast was attended by local business owners, State Member for Nudgee Jason Woodforth and the challenger to the Federal Treasurer, Mr. Rod McGarvie in next year’s election.

After hearing so many rumors the Energex representatives gave the group the actual dates and numbers of people moving in. So here they are:

“350 people moving in, in late November early December”

“There will be 550 work stations in the Energex office space so we can expect a further 200 hundred people to trickle in over the following two to three months. 120 car parks will be dedicated to the Energex employees. A small number of car spaces will be available to shoppers as there is a retail component in the development” the Energex representatives said.

Energex will take Levels 3 to 7, which fuels the rumor that Powerlink will also take space in the complex.

Energex employees have access to locker rooms and showers, which is great for them but not so good for those environmentally conscious Nundah Village business owners who will also occupy the building and who ride to work, as the facilities are dedicated to Energex employees only.

The group then discussed the “Hot Topic” of car parking and after some discussion Jason Woodforth asked who in the room would support an extension to the current time limits for car parking from 2 hours to 3 or 4 hours. The majority of the group raised their hands in support.

However there were some members who stated that 1-hour stays would allow people to come and go and maximize the number of car parks available at any one time.

This debate will continue so Watch this Space…..

The Flip SideA Commercial Shot in the Arm

Lets say we have 20% of the Energex employees buying lunch and coffee each day. Thats a lot of coffee, sandwiches and refreshments.  And lets face it, most of us enjoy updating our wardrobe and buying home furnishings. Then there’s the 6 weekly haircut and the nice gift for your partner and or family.

Our business owners across the board have reasons to get excited.
