Urban Renewal Planning Process, Northgate

Protecting our Community

With the development of new commercial, residential and retail developments in our local community, coupled with new transport infrastructure, Nundah and Northgate are fast becoming the new Inner City Hot-spots in Brisbane,

Nundah and Northgate have been renowned for wonderful examples of early Queenslanders.

From Peary and Cook Street in Northgate to Jenner and York Street in Nundah, these ageless beauties are sort after homes for buyers in our local community.

It is therefore with some interest that we have identified an opportunity for residents to participate in a partition to request an Urban Renewal Planning Process at Northgate requiring proper planning in relation to the following issues:

  • Encouraging noxious and air-polluting industries away from the railway station area
  • Planning appropriate future land uses
  • Addressing commuter parking problems
  • Protecting character housing, parks and natural areas.

Councillor Kim Flesser is requesting local residents sign a petition to develop a new Northgate Neighbourhood Plan as soon as possible. Councillor Flesser is requesting funding for this process be provided in the June 2013 Lord Mayor’s Annual Council Budget.

At Ray White Nundah we support any action to protect our local environment and heritage for future generations.

The partition can be found at the link below

Thank you
